Welcome to my website! I am so happy to share my artwork with you.

I grew up in New Castle, Indiana and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. After marrying my college sweetheart, we moved to Ontario where we settled in Glen Williams. I returned to school and received a Bachelor of Education from Brock University and then Blind Specialist Qualifications from the University of Western Ontario. We have three adult children who have filled my life with adventure and joy.

Although my career for over 30 years has been as a teacher of the Blind and Low Vision, I have continually painted and drawn, usually inspired by scenes from my family cottage on Lake Tippecanoe in Indiana or my home in Glen Williams. I have sold many pieces privately and had several art shows in both my hometown and current home. I am thrilled to finally be sharing my work online and hope you enjoy viewing.

If you find a piece you are interested in purchasing, payment can be made by e-transfer to jmartinecart@gmail.com, or if delivery is in person, by cash or cheque. All pieces are in Canadian dollars, and shipping cost is extra. Any piece available as a copy can be produced in various sizes. The size listed is the original size, but feel free to inquire about other size options and pricing. All pieces are ready to hang with wire on the back. Any frames are solid wood (no plastic!), mats are acid-free and glass is UV protected.

Because I have always felt artwork is "music to my eyes", titles of my work are also song titles.
